Pro Storm Jacket Camera Covers are the most compact and portable camera protection you can carry with you everywhere you go . . . so you won't hesitate to use it anytime the camera is going to get wet, dirty, or sit in the sun. They are perfect for live shots setups, locker room celebrations, shooting in rain, drizzle, snow, and dusty or dirty environments. They aren't meant to replace heavy-duty covers and rain slickers costing hundreds of dollars when you really need that level of protection. Pro Storm Jackets can be slipped on and off in less than 5 seconds, which means you'll actually use them when you'd otherwise just let the camera get wet because you didn't want to struggle with a bulky cover. When you're done with it, just shake it off, stuff it back into its zippered case, and shove it in a pocket. The cover and case together only weigh about 2-5 ounces depending on the model. The Medium size (recommended for most customers) works well for short lenses up through 300-400mm f/2.8. Measure your camera/lens from the rear of the body to the front of the lens. If it's 7"-15", this is the cover for you. The Large size is built for very long lenses. Measure your camera/lens from the rear of the body to the front of the lens. If it's 14"-23", this is the cover for you...but, you might want to get a smaller size to go with it. The XL Xtra Large size is built for extra long len ses. Front Closure Issues

I live in the PNW and am impressed by how much rain this thing can handle.

However. I am deleting two stars because the front has issues with where it sits on your hood.

If you try and close it near the front of your hood, of course you will see it in the picture.

If you try and close it in the middle, it will slide down and let in rain.

If you close it where it naturally wants to slide, then it is sitting between your hood and your lens which brings up a number of issues:

+ A bit of rain can get in the gaps.
+ It can cause your hood to come loose.
+ It can throw off your zoom.

All of these issues can occur in a way that is not immediately noticeable but could have quite the affect on your equipment and/or pictures.

I personally haven't found a better replacement product, so I deal with this issue with a very wide rubber band that I place about 1/4 inch below the front closure and directly on the spot where it wants to slide to.

It seems like Vortex could create a wide Velcro band that was part of the product that did the trick even better or...? I dunno. I'm not the inventor.

I would delete more stars and/or returned it, but again, it has very good rain resistance, and some of us have jobs that take our equipment where it wasn't designed to go.

Perfect for rain

I purchased this rain cover for a wildlife photography trip in Alaska where I knew it would rain a little at least each day. There are more expensive and more complicated devices out there to do the same job, but this little cover proved to be just perfect for my camera and a 500 mm lens. In deed, it did rain every day and the Vortex kept my equipment dry and happy. It stows in a small bag that can hang from your tripod and it takes just a few seconds to put on. You can reach up through the Velcroed opening in the bottom to manually focus, if needed, still maintaining rain protection. Highly recommended.

Awesome 2 day delivery!!! the bag is what they said it would be. I have a storm Jacket cover and it works great even in a downpour it saved my gear from making a trip to the shop
