LS50W Speaker System

The LS50W is a fully active speaker system that enables music lovers to enjoy pristine sound quality normally associated with elaborate, high-end sound systems. This active speaker pair uses the KEF signature Uni-Q Driver Array to produce sound, and can cleanly reach down to 40Hz. Combined with a time-correcting DSP crossover, the incredible sound of Uni-Q is taken to the next level.

The LS50W allows users to stream music wirelessly via Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, Tidal, Spotify, and Roon, or wired via an asynchronous USB connection, a digital (TOSLINK) input, or an RCA analog input. Furthermore, users can control, customize, and stream their audio over Wi-Fi directly to the speakers via a dedicated app available on both iOS and Android.

Time Correcting DSP Crossovers

High and low frequencies should ideally hit your ears at exactly the right time. Up until now that concept was largely elusive, save for very small 'sweet spots' within any given listening space. With LS50W’s advanced time correcting DSP crossover and the unique sound dispersion abilities of Uni-Q, accurate sound reproduction can be achieved in practically every location in any type of room. This is a feat that cannot be reproduced by any other active speaker.

LS50W users also have the option to switch off the time correction feature.

Hi-Fi In A Class Of Its Own

The LS50W features an end-to-end 192kHz/24-bit high-resolution digital signal path, a streaming pre-amplifier, and two separate DACs per channel for a total of four. Powered in the analogue stage by an incredibly fast and clean 230W per channel in a bi-amp dual mono configuration, the LS50W is a complete, high-fidelity music system that will cost you far less than the separate components necessary to match its performance.

Should you be after additional bass, the LS50W allows the option to output to an external subwoofer. Frequency crossover points can be set via the LS50W app. The LS50W speakers are connected by cable.

A dedicated LS50W app (available for iOS and Android) easily facilitates network setup, music streaming, playback and DSP control. An incredible listening experience is easy as plugging in. Simply connect both LS50W speakers to a power source and connect an audio source to enjoy high quality sound that music deserves. Adjust how the LS50W sounds using a selectable EQ tuned to compensate for different mounting scenarios, creating more options for placement and positioning. Regardless of placement, Uni-Q technology disperses sound evenly for total listening enjoyment. Use the touch sensitive control panel or the remote control to ensure complete control of LS50W from a different aspect.
