I bought this for my 87 yr old father - he had one of those round "multi-directional" antennas. Unfortunately, he lives about 60-75 miles from any decent TV stations, which is right on the end range for that kind of antenna. And it was getting pretty old. So I figured, what the heck - anything has to be better that what he has now.
I have to admit, if I had not got this at a discount, I wouldn't have tried this Antenna simply because I felt that at $33 there was no way this Antenna would be any good. Man, was I wrong! As an Antenna, it's a really good value for money... BUT ... the price you pay is that you have to put it together!
The "directions" are pretty dismal. Thankfully I'm pretty good at muddling through and figuring how to get things done. If you are not handy, you may want to enlist a friend to help you to put it together. Honestly, I ended up using the photos in the listing more than the directions simply because the directions are pretty poorly done. It looks like a photocopy and the print quality is poor (see photos) .. never mind some of the translation. Once I figured out what it needed to look like, it only took a few minutes to put it together.
Once I got it on the pole, and before I even hoisted the pole up to the full 30 ft (it was at about 20 ft), I hooked up the rotation box and we turned the TV ... even without "fine tuning" the stations (by using the rotation box), my father was raving within seconds about how much more clear the signal was on one of the stations that he could barely get in the past. We started playing with the rotation remote control (which takes 2 AAA batteries, BTW - not supplied) and managed to get even more channels. One thing to note: my father has a metal roof on his house, which I was concerned would affect the signal for the rotation box, but it works just fine!
My father is delighted... and so am I. I'm currently in an apartment but I hope to buy a house soon. I'm about done with TWC (our cable company) so I will definitely be looking into getting another of these to augment any internet options that I use.
I planned to get photos of the Antenna on the pole before I left to catch my plane but because of a few complications in other things not related to the Antenna I didn't get one but I will be going back in about a month so I will take some then.. but I did manage to get a photo of the picture on his TV... I don't know that I've ever seen his TV that clear even on the best channels in the past.
I did receive this for a discounted price for a fair and honest review... however, I try to work with items I need so I can give them a real trial, and thus my opinions and experiences are a real and true reflection of my experience with the product. I hope my review helps you in your purchase decisions!

I purchased this hoping to get stations from Seattle, WA, channels 4, 5, 7 and 13 so we could get local news which is not available on Sling. We are 100+ miles away with mountains between us. Pointing the antenna due South we get all of these plus more, 30 some in all. If we point the antenna North into Canada we would get even more. The rotor is the only thing I have issues with, you basically have to be outside with the antenna and control box both in line of site to get it where you want it. It has already gone through several wind storms and 2 ice storms and it has held up. Reception can be poor during these storms but so can dish antennas. The reception quality from this is much better than Direct TV ever was, with clear picture quality and sound. No more $80 monthly fees. Works good on two tvs.

Installed this antenna on my rooftop this week. It has surpassed my expectations in its ability to receive digital channels. My house is located between Chicago and Milwaukee, I have lots of large tall trees nearby as well as taller houses, and this antenna still picks up over 50 channels. I have pointed it in the direction of where most of the Milwaukee TV transmitters are, and to my surprise, the antenna not only picks up the Milwaukee channels great, but also picks up the Chicago stations when it is not pointed in their direction. I highly recommend this product. The difficult part of the installation is running the coaxial wires through the walls and floor of the house. The stand for the antenna is sold separately. The antenna comes with a decent length of coaxial cable included, but in my case I needed 100 feet of coaxial cable so I ordered that separately as well. I use Roku devices in conjunction with the HD antenna to provide my household with a massive array of free quality television. I am very happy with this antenna.
