Be aware that every time you use it, you have to use a screwdriver to partially disassemble it in order to clean it.
I wasted my money. Because of the cleaning hassle - I'll seldom use it. Buyer's regret!!!!!!

Big Green Deep Cleaning Professional Grade Carpet Cleaner Machine, both of which we tested extensively.
The thing I like the best about carpet cleaners is how easy it is to get men to clean your house with them. The more elaborate the machine the better. This is the sixth in a series of Bissell carpet cleaners we have tested, and it's radically different from any other one we've used. We recommend it, but there is one MAJOR drawback which might make it impractical for some buyers. Read on for the deets...
SET UP/APPEARANCE: You will need a Philip's screwdriver. Set up wasn't too bad, and since Bissell includes a small amount of cleaning fluid you will be off to the races straight out of the box. There is a quick start guide and a full manual. We like the design, appearance-wise; it looks space-age. Nifty.
PERFORMANCE: Very good. Powerful and effective. Not as powerful as the Bissell 86T3/86T3Q
Big Green Deep Cleaning Professional Grade Carpet Cleaner Machine, but then this ProHeat is $150 cheaper, as of this writing. We cleaned an 8'x10' carpet and the unit pulled out a LOT of dirt, dust and debris. But this leads us to...
THE DRAWBACK: The water tank is small. Too small. I get why they made it so small; the detachable center is easy to lug up stairs and into cars because it isn't huge. But good grief it is annoying to keep refilling the little tank. To clean that rug mentioned above? Three refills. It's just time consuming. The Big Green Machine Bissell makes would have done that rug on one tank with lots to spare. This Proheat is okay if you have small spaces to clean, and especially if you wish to clean...
CAR UPHOLSTERY: I've included before and after pics of car mats (plus a video of how the small unit wand works) to give you an idea of the level of clean you will get . The car in question is five years old and the mats have never been shampooed in that time (shameful, I know). Those stains are dirt, oil and grease from construction work. The ProHeat got them decent, but the Big Green Machine would have cleaned them maybe one level more, clearing out more of the residual stains. Even though you can detach the center of the ProHeat (as shown in picture), the Big Green Machine has a versatile wand attachment and honestly it's just as easy to clean cars with. Except you don't have to constantly refill the tank.
Which leads us to the conclusion, broke down below.
YOU SHOULD GET THE PROHEAT LIFT OFF PET IF: You have a small carpet space to clean (say, a home under 1000 square feet), do a lot of spot treating (children and pets), and/or need the price to be under $300.
YOU SHOULD GET THE BIG GREEN MACHINE IF: You have a larger home with extensive carpet, have multiple cars you would like to clean in one fell swoop, and want to invest in a more powerful product that will last many years (after nearly six years of constant intensive use, ours was still bringing trashed carpets back from the dead as superbly as the day we got it).
We like this ProHeat better than Bissell's DeepClean carpet cleaners, and we think this model is a nice blend of the original ProHeat and the portable Car Cleaners. We MUCH prefer Bissell Carpet Cleaners to the Hoover brand models, which tend to be bulky, hard-to-maneuver, and finicky (one expensive model had a tendency to shut off when pushed over uneven terrain. Stunk.). This is a good machine at a fair price and we do recommended it for buyers will the above needs. One star deducted for the tank issue, but still rating overall:
