Product Description
Fein Turbo 2 vacuum with 8.4 gallon tank which includes an Auto-start wet dry vac and the construction accessories (includes: 2 suction pipes, Wet/dry floor nozzle, Crevice nozzle, Suction brush, elbow/handle). Powerful 1100 watt by-pass motor is ideal for the job site or DIY use. An integrated power tool socket with automatic start/stop function ensures that the extractor starts after a power tool has been switched on. 66 DB noise level. Air flow rate 151 CFM and a static water lift of 98.4" ensures a high air flow to pull up everything! Bypass motor allows for the dirty air that comes from the hose never to come into contact with the motor. This eliminates dust spewing out from the motor when you turn the vacuum on and a very long life of the product. Simply said what goes in the vacuum stays in the vacuum. Filter guard for flat fold filter if the filter is dirty, the dirt can simply be tapped out of the filter cassette without the flat fold filter being damaged, The protective filter cassette means that there is no need to replace the cellulose filter for wet extraction. Long 13' ft. hose and 18' ft. cord for long reach allows you to be 54' ft. from the outlet.Product Details

Purchased to replace a now obsolete Hitachi Commercial Vacuum. On the basis of suction and quiet operation, I would give this five stars. However, given the cost of the unit, certain design aspects fall way, way short of expectations. (1) A gap forms between canister an motor unit when lifted. In other reviews, Fein commented that suction pulls this together during operation...but that is a lame excuse. I believe they wanted to accommodate the bag-less style filter they offer, but rather than design a compliant latch, they just leave a gap when internal bags are used. This is just sloppy engineering. (2) The cord is of adequate length, but is a cheap vinyl insulated variety. An SO-type rubber cord with molded plug would have been a better choice, as they are flexible and easy to coil, even when cold. Also, there is no place to wrap or hang the cord, (3) Internal felt filter bag connection to the inlet tube is via a very thin membrane. The cardboard flange really serves no useful function. It remains to be seen how good of a seal this provides. The optional filter which sits on the canister rim seems like a better choice for filtration, wherein the debris will drop into the canister. (4) A provision was made to hold the hose, but it is only deep enough to hold one turn of the hose, where two turns should be accommodated. (5) The cord wire gauge and accessory current capacity should be increased for higher draw tools. Finally, it is apparent that these vacuums were redesigned to reduce cost over the earlier version, not improve value to the customer. I think there is a market for someone to design a equal performing, but better designed unit at this price point.
Update 3/29/17 - After modest use, the hose separated from termination on the tool end. Unfortunately, this is only glued into a very shallow groove, without any other form of strain relief. Another badly designed feature. Had to down grade one more star.

What's not to love? It's QUIETer than almost anything else out there, yet still sucks like a...well, it just sucks really, really well. This is a great combination for our use - vacuuming horses (yes, you can vacuum a horse, and lots of folks do), which is a really demanding application...the stuff you get off a horse is super-fine gritty dust, worse than drywall dust even (which is what this was first and foremost intended to work on). Also costs about $300 less than specialty horse-vacuums (which aren't nearly as high-quality). But fear not, it's a general-purpose wet/dry shop vac, with many great features. The feature I love the most: both the hose and the cord can be coiled and stowed onboard the vacuum so that the whole shootin-match can be picked up and carried with one hand...no more wrestling with a flopping anaconda of a hose while you're trying to move the vacuum!
Fein is, for a reason, generally recognized as the top of the line for shop vacs (its only serious competition is Festool, which is much more expensive but not much better).
