Product Description
The Polar Pro Aqua 3 Red Filter Is designed for color correction while scuba diving in Blue and Tropical Water. The Filter simply snaps onto the GoPro Hero3 waterproof housing. This filter allows the camera to capture vibrant tropical colors while diving from 10 to 85 Feet. Why do you need a red filter while diving? The GoPro Hero3 has an Auto White Balance, which improperly registers colors due to red light loss under water. This is why underwater videos often turn out very green or very blue. A red filter helps compensate for red light loss and allows the camera to properly record beautiful reef colors. The PolarPro Red fitler has been tested in over 50 countries world wide, don't settle for anything but the best color correction in the industry. Polar Pro also backs this filter with a 180 day limited warranty and dedicated customer service located in Newport Beach, CA.Product Details

I bought this red filter for my GoPro Hero 4 Silver after reading all the reviews. I didn't encounter any of the negative issues that others have wrote about. This lense filter fits very tightly to the camera case. I like that Polar Pro included the small synthetic piece of tether. I would suggest that you do what I did and use a lighter to singe the ends of the tether cord so they won't unravel. So the tether wouldn't float into the shot, I tied the tether to the rear underside mounting point of my telescoping pole and made sure any extra slack in the tether's length was also secured out of the camera's lense view.
These screen shots were taken from the videos that I shot while completing my PADI Open Waters SCUBA Diving Course off Isla Mujeres, Mexico. The diving depth was about 35 ft. This filter was awesome in bringing out all the spectacular colors that I couldn't even see due to the normal light transition through the clear diving mask I was wearing.
In summary, this is a great red lense filter for about half the price of the other brands, including the obvious other brand! I definitely recommend this if your planning on do any diving with your GoPro in the Caribbean waters.

Loved this! Some reviews complained that it came off, so I tethered it to the GoPro's case just in case, but I did not have any issues with it falling off even though I jumped from the boat into the water with my GoPro. We did however have an octopus grab my GoPro and it removed the filter, however since it was tethered we did not lose it!
You can see the video here on youtube: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8BG_gvQ7Qnc The video also shows how well the filter works in balancing out the blue in the water.

I've used this filter in Panama City FL on multiple occasions, Looe Key in the lower keys, and in Jamaica (on approximately 10 dives). I found in my opinion that the best results are between about 15 and 50 feet. Above 15 feet you will get more red then you'd like, especially at the surface. Below about 50 feet and the blue will begin to overtake the filter, although it still helps mitigate some of the problem.
Also what I found in my experience with this is that after jumping off the boat and getting stabilized, I'll go ahead and take the filter off and swish it around to remove bubbles. Check it every now and then to see if you have a few bubbles in there and remove them as necessary.
I'm posting several pictures I took with it using the same gopro. First one is at about 20 feet in the keys (excellent general visibility conditions), the next two are on the same Jamaican reef system with and without the filter at about 30 feet (very good general visibility). The last is at depth at about 70 feet in Panama City (30 foot visibility)
