What is V-NAND and how does it differ from existing technology?

Great Product, Software that comes with it is bad. Download software from Samsung site for it to work

Received this product yesterday one day early with Free Shipping. The drive performs better than expected honestly after seeing a few benchmark testing. Wanted to get an SSD because stock HDD was 5400 RPM and I do photo editing. This won't speed up the editing (although the i7 Processor is good for that) but definitely helps recalling pictures in LR and CC.

The issues I had were not with the drive but the Samsung Software that came with it. Do not use the CD that comes with the product but download the software off the Samsung site. the CD has outdated software and doesn't work with Windows 10. After installing the latest versions of the software everything worked without a glitch. This drive coupled with an i7 processor and 16gb RAM really made a world of difference. Noticed the incredible speeds right away.

For some more information on the software problems in case you get this and have the same issues: (Windows 10)
Cloning Software would say "Target Drive was disconnected" before it started cloning. Downloading updated software fixed that.
Magician Software didn't allow RAPID mode to be enabled on Windows 10. Downloading updated software fixed that.

The switch over to the SSD from a HDD was easy per instructions provided by Samsung

I installed this SSD on an old Acer Extensa 4630Z laptop, Vista OS 32 bit, 4 GB RAM (maximum it can have) with an Intel Pentium dual core 2 GHz processor. The switch over to the SSD from a HDD was easy per instructions provided by Samsung. Now I have a laptop that is very very fast. Just to give you an idea, I use Thunderbird for email. It used to take around 60 seconds to load when first started. Now it takes about 10 seconds. Boot was usually around 2 minutes (I have this computer loaded with programs, by the way) and now it's around 1 minute. All keyboard commands, operations are crispy quick. Keep in mind that due to the motherboard, CPU and other old hardware, I'm not seeing the full potential of this SSD, but what I do see is that this laptop performs like it's a new computer with quad core i7 Intel CPU's with 8 Gb RAM, SATA III HDD's and USB 3.0 ports...which we have...so I can compare. This old Acer is now faster than those. Imagine if I put a Samsung in one of those machines just mentioned!! SSD's are the way to go and I'd only use Samsung 850 Pro (this based upon my research and reviews in the past year).
