Nice and cool

it's an awesome air conditioner

Honestly, it's an awesome air conditioner. Is it loud? No. Does it make noise? Duh. I mean come on people....it's an air conditioner. We have our literally set up next to our TV and it's no louder than a box fan set on high. As for those who say it doesn't cool their homes....it's 8,000 btu, what are you expecting? We live in a 900sqft apt and it works well to cool our living room/dining room/kitchen. They aren't meant to cool an entire house so if that is what you're looking for call a central air company! Looks great. Works great. And is NOT as loud as others lead you to believe.

Good value

I bought this one and the 8,000 BTU Frigidaire to supplement my central AC - this one is more powerful (seems a tad colder and blows a little stronger); however, the Frigidaire is quieter and nicer looking. The exhaust assembly on the Frigidaire is easier to install and seals better with the unit than this one (which is literally a round tube in a square connector, apparently the engineers are not aware of this aphorism??). I used packing tape on both to seal up the exhaust tubes to body attachment.

Dollar for dollar, an excellent value.
