5Great indoor grill for one or two people.
By TomHunter1968
Great indoor grill for one or two people. I'm a single guy and Ive worn through two of these - this is my third in 10 years. I've found that this smaller one is really all I need, having owned two of the larger models previously. It takes up less space than the other two, and it'll cool four burger patties or deboned chicken breasts at once - more than enough for me.

If I had a family, I'd want the larger ones, but, again, for one or two people, this may be all you need.

Clean up is very easy, as this one has detachable grill plates, as well.

5Sizes You Can Cook & MORE
By Leyland B. French
After reading the reviews on this wonderful little grill, I hesitated in buying it online so bought it at Wal-Mart in case I wanted to return it immediately. I didn't need to do this after I got it home and tried it. I have used and tested this model and loved cooking with it ever since I got it and use it almost every day. Clean up time using hot, sudsy dish water in the sink for all three pieces of the grill plates and grease tray takes me one minute and ten seconds! The truth is that it a smaller grill and even though it would not be suitable for a family of four in my opinion, but I would still highly recommend it to anyone without hesitation. This is the perfect size grill for one or two people or possibly more, and can cook the sizes of foods that we enjoy here in America on a regular basis.
I am listing some of the maximum sizes of foods that I have found that will cook evenly on the grill and will brown perfectly every time using a preheating time of 10 minutes. These are just suggestions so you don't go to the grocery store with a ruler in your hands. (lol)
1.) One, Five and one half inch by Eight and one half inch T-Bone Steak with the bone in arranged side by side or horizontally on the grill.
2.) Two, Five and one half inch by Four inch Rib eye, Top Sirloin, Chopped Sirloin, or other kinds steaks arranged side by side lengthwise from the top to the bottom on the grill surface.
3.) Two, Four and one half inch, one half pound (or larger) hamburgers arranged side by side on the grill. (beef, lamb, turkey or other meats.)
4.) Three, Three one quarter pound (or larger), hamburger patties arranged in two rows with two on the top and one on the bottom of the grill surface.
5.) Four, Four and one half inch, one quarter pound hamburger (Krystal size. lol) patties or sausage patties arranged in two rows on the grill surface.
6.) Two, Five and one half inch by Four inch boneless chicken breasts or pork chops. Chicken breasts with the bone in should be baked or poached first before putting them on the grill for final cooking to add grill marks and color and make sure that they are cooked all the way through.
7.) Three slices of thick cut bacon arranged in rows from the top to the bottom of the grill horizontally. Seven minutes cooking time for restaurant quality taste and doneness.
*I am leaving out any measurements for fish and other seafood's, and vegetables because there are too many variations in sizes to try and list. But I think that the measurements I have listed above should give you a good idea of the sizes of foods that you can cook on the grill. I also left cooking times out except for the bacon, because the thickness of the foods determines the time that they need to cook to your preference. Have fun...experiment!
Here's the "MORE" from the review title:
-The instruction book says clearly not to over crowd the grill. If you over crowd the grill the food will NOT brown. The moisture on the meat itself will be trapped under the meat will turn into steam which "poaches" the meat instead of browning it. Also if you do not make sure that all sides of the meat are dry, it will not brown either. These are two things that Julia Child went on and on about in her cookbooks and TV programs. So get out the paper towels and dry the meat before cooking it. You can still marinate the meat if you want to, but dry it before putting it on the grill. The flavor will already be soaked up into the pours of the meat so drying it won't change the taste after you cook it. This works every time.
-The instruction book also says that you can wash your grill plates in the dishwasher. I would never do this because top quality "high dollar" companies like Calphalon, All Clad, and others clearly state in their "use and care" manuals that all their non-stick surfaces should be washed by hand and not in the dishwasher because the harsh chemicals in these soaps will damage the non-stick surfaces. I have found this to be 100% true in the past after I ruined several pieces over a short time in the dishwasher and they stuck like glue when I tried to use them from then on. I would love to be able to tell you want scientists say about cooking sprays like PAM do to your non-stick surfaces but I don't want to get sued! Have you ever noticed that amber build-up that you can't scrub off and the pan starts to stick more and more? Ok, enough said. If I need it, I use cooking oil or butter.
-Now to the issue of the cord length that seems to bother so many reviewers. UL STANDARDS in the United States determines the safety of an appliance against fire hazards based on the Watts it uses in order to determine the length of the cord it can have. The manufacturer has nothing to do with choosing a cord length for an appliance in this country. This grill is rated at 1150 Watts and has a 25" cord. I looked at a small single serving George Foreman grill at Wal-Mart and it was rated at 650 Watts so it could have a longer 30" cord. I hope this clears that problem up.
I hope this review has been helpful to some of you and that if you end up purchasing one, I hope you enjoy it as much as I have ever since I bought it. I feel that it has been the best $30 purchase that I have made in ages!

By Jim
This grill works fine. I was worried when I read all the reviews of people who had the older grill with the permanently attached plates, and they complained that this model does not get at hot. Maybe, but it does get hot enough to cook fine. It might take a little longer, but the convenience of the removable plates for cleaning is worth it.

I can put 3 quarter pound hamburger patties, or 2 third pound patties on it, FROZEN and in 12 minutes they are cooked fully well done all the way thru, and seared on the outside just fine. All you have to do is wait for the ready light to come on. These burgers are about or over 3/4 of an inch thick, so it should work fine with chops or steaks too as long as they are not very thick.

The clean up is really simple. Wait till it cools, remove the plates and clean them in the sink. I cannot imagine the mess of cleaning the version with the permanently attached plates.

This grill works fine, it might take longer than the older version, but the convenience of the removable plate clean up is well worth it. If you live alone, or have a small family, this grill is well worth it.

5Great value. Will chop ANYTHING.
By Alyssa K
I can't believe this thing only cost $28. I've never owned a food processor in my life - I've always had this weird thing about having to chop everything by hand. And I cook a LOT. But I was finally thwarted by falafel - I had a grinder attachment for my KitchenAid that was just not cutting it, and my blender wasn't cutting it for the hummus I also love to make on the regular. Both made these simple foods take too long to prepare and make a huge mess. So I decided to initiate the Food Processor Experiment. This thing had great reviews so I thought it would probably be a good test subject.

I had a batch of soaked chickpeas on deck and ready to go when this thing arrived in the mail (oh I love Prime.. as close as you can get to instant gratification). The first thing I threw in there was a big bunch of cilantro and parsley. Packed to the brim. Pulverized to perfectly uniform bits in seconds. I think I screamed. I took out the greens and next I threw in five cloves of whole garlic. Instantly shredded into fairly uniform bits, the size you'd get from chopping by hand. Then added two huge jalapeno peppers and some onions. Five seconds later, they are obliterated. At this point, I'm snapchatting the before and after photos of my chopped food to my sister and boyfriend, who are laughing at me. After all, I'm 27 years old, it's not like I've never witnessed modern technology before.

Finally, I removed the previously mentioned ingredients and did the beans. Amazingly, they didn't stick, whole beans didn't float at the top while the bottom layer was turned to mush, but I think I did about 4-5 cups of whole beans at a time and let it go for 45-60 seconds and the falafel was perfectly ground with excellent uniform particle size and cohesion. They were my best batch yet.

Since then I've been tossings things in there willy nilly, just to try out the shredding disc as well as the chopping blade. Made some almond and hazelnut flour from raw nuts. Sliced a whole bunch of celery and beets, cabbage, onion, with the shredding disc.

My favorite things:
- It's idiot proof and easy to click the bowl onto the base with one hand.
- Easy to clean
- The chopping blades are spaced well so that food at the top is drawn down toward the blade and your whole substance receives a uniform chop.
- 8-cups is perfect. I think 10 cups would be too big for anything, really. I have made batches of food big enough for 10 people with this size easily.

My only gripes with this processor...
- It only has two speeds: 1 "Really High", and 2 "Insanely High". The Pulse function pulses at "Insanely High." So you can't really coarsely chop things like greens.
- It is extremely loud. Think: laying your face directly against a vacuum cleaner. Or, a cheap hand mixer at its highest speed. If you live in an apartment your neighbors will definitely know when you're a-processin.' On the other hand, it'll only be for a few seconds because dang this thing is powerful.
- Because of the high speeds, it is difficult to get uniform slicing when doing small/soft things like green onions or cucumbers with the shredding/slicing disc. It is just so fast that after the green onions get past the point where you can hand-feed it into the chute, they just get sucked in and shredded from whichever angle they hit the slicing blade. So, I had a bunch of green onions which were perfectly tiny cross sections, and a bunch of long skinny shreds of green onion that had been sliced longitudinally rather than axially. This wasn't a problem for harder things like onion, beets, and cabbage. which I was fine with being sliced that way. (If anyone has ideas on maneuvering around this, leave a comment!)

If I could change anything, I would give it a low speed setting.

Nevertheless, that doesn't change my overall starry-eyed adoration for this amazing contraption. It is an excellent value and super powerful for its price. I am very, very happy with this purchase. $30 well spent.

5This food processor is NUT BUTTER KING!!
By Amazon Customer
I bought this food processor for the sole purpose of making nut butters. Once washed and assembled, I had a jar of pecan and a jar of cashew nut butter in literally a few minutes! I'm beyond IMPRESSED with this machine. Every nut butter recipe I read said that the process would take at least 15-20 minutes, so I was prepared for the wait. I was also prepared to periodically take breaks to prevent the food processor from overheating, since I've heard that many less expensive food processors don't handle the job well. I don't know what kind of food processors those bloggers were using, but this little gem made me creamy cashew butter (using 10 oz bag of honey roasted cashews from Aldi) in less than 3 minutes and creamy pecan butter in less than 1 minute (using 8 oz bag of chopped pecans)!! I didn't even roast/heat the nuts before processing. If you're like me and want to know if this will work for nut butters then don't hesitate to buy this. Appliances like this prove that you don't always have to spend a lot of money for quality products!

5Life Changing Appliance
By ramone
My mother has always said that if her food processor breaks, she will go out that day and buy a new one. Me? I have got along just fine (or so I thought) hand chopping my vegetables or using The Ultimate Chopper (the famous or perhaps infamous infomercial product from the 2000's) for smaller jobs. Recently though, I thought it would be great to slice vegetables without having to stand at the counter for hours on end (full disclosure, my boyfriend was sick of seeing me almost slice my finger off). Enter this fantastic machine.

Words can not express how much I LOVE THIS THING! It is so FAST, ridiculously powerful (slices potatoes in seconds) and makes cooking so much easier that we can not believe it. I even tried making a quiche in it, plopped all the ingredients together and it was oven ready in minutes. You can do anything with this bad boy. My roommate made veggie chips: beet, carrot, sweet potato and used the slicing blade, voila, perfectly shaped veggie chips in seconds (no lie, it is SPEEDY). It is also awesome for grating cheese and has the perfect amount of attachments (4 in total) plus the regular blade. It also has grippers on its feet, so it does not slide around when you are using it. And, its dishwasher safe, but we use it so often, we'd rather hand wash it.

I honestly can not recommend this product higher. And, if it ever breaks (which I can't even imagine happening) I am buying this exact machine again.

5Strong bag, easy to change
By MargaretNC
I just changed out my first Miele bag today. I noticed the vacuum suction had diminished over the past 2 days, but the power was still adequate for routine cleaning, so I continued as usual.

Because I wasn't familiar with the warning lights, I apparently left the bag in too long, and the Miele suddenly shut itself off. The bag was stuffed so full of dust and carpet fibers that some of the debris was extending into the vacuum tubing! It was a relief to see that the bag was intact despite being stretched tight. It was very easy to remove, even though it was overstuffed.

When I turned the vacuum on again, the usual strong suction kicked right in. I will be much more careful about watching for the warning light in the future. In the meantime, it is wonderful to see that the high-quality Miele products can accommodate non-expert handling without breaking.

5Good Bags for Bad Stuff
By Greg
These are great bags. Yes, the box is redesigned. Yes, the bags are slightly redesigned. Same performance. They may be expensive, but half the reason I have a Miele is for the filtration and bagging system. If you are simply restocking, these are the same as the "other" GN airclean bags, just a bit redesigned. They work just the same.

5Use the Miele bags, not the imitations.
By KellyR
The bags are expensive but the reason for the purchase of my Miele is to reduce indoor allergens. The bag (and the HEPA filter[not included]) play an important role. There are other cheaper bags out there, but they don't have the same performance characteristics of genuine Miele bags. They hold quite a bit so the consolation of an expensive bag is that they do not need to be replaced as often.

5it's an awesome air conditioner
By Amazon Customer
Honestly, it's an awesome air conditioner. Is it loud? No. Does it make noise? Duh. I mean come on people....it's an air conditioner. We have our literally set up next to our TV and it's no louder than a box fan set on high. As for those who say it doesn't cool their homes....it's 8,000 btu, what are you expecting? We live in a 900sqft apt and it works well to cool our living room/dining room/kitchen. They aren't meant to cool an entire house so if that is what you're looking for call a central air company! Looks great. Works great. And is NOT as loud as others lead you to believe.

4Good value
By Mike
I bought this one and the 8,000 BTU Frigidaire to supplement my central AC - this one is more powerful (seems a tad colder and blows a little stronger); however, the Frigidaire is quieter and nicer looking. The exhaust assembly on the Frigidaire is easier to install and seals better with the unit than this one (which is literally a round tube in a square connector, apparently the engineers are not aware of this aphorism??). I used packing tape on both to seal up the exhaust tubes to body attachment.

Dollar for dollar, an excellent value.

5Glad I Finally Purchased One of These! Only wish I'd done it sooner...
By Espresso Fan
I've been looking into Sous Vide cooking for over a year now reading reviews etc. I finally pulled the plug on this model and couldn't be happier with this purchase. We've used it everyday for over a month now. You name it we've cooked it (eggs, steak, pork roast, vegetables, fish, desert toppings.. and even used it to ripen fruit!) Not a single complaint. I won't bore you with descriptions of how the juicy or wonderful or delicious meals have been as its already been said dozens of times in these reviews. If you are considering this purchase, just be aware you can't use it to cook a meal in a hurry and you need to plan ahead. (Think of it like cooking with a crock pot... low temperature cooking over long periods of time ... slow and steady) .

Early yesterday we decided to challenge this cooker with the tough meat challenge. As you may know, one of claims of sous vide cooking is it can make the toughest cut of meat tender. So... we asked the butcher provide us with a cheap inexpensive cut of meat which was a chuck underblade steak (also sometimes called a bottom chuck steak)... these are cuts that all too often turn out really tough. Be aware that tough meats need to cook for a much longer period of time. Following the instructions for cooking a tough cut of beef to medium rare... we cooked ours at 149 degrees for 19 hours ( recommended time is 16 to 24 hours) . The result ... was a delicious melt in your mouth delight, no knife needed, cut it with the side of a fork dinner. Really amazing.

NOTE: You absolutely DO NOT .. I repeat you DO NOT need a vacuum sealer or Food Saver type of appliance to use this cooker! A zip lock bag works just as well. We have used both equally with the same great results. In regards to this cooker, the only advantage we found with the food saver was being able to bulk purchase meat / chicken. We put the meat into a food saver bags with our seasonings of choice, seal them up then throw them in the freezer. We then have a supply of ready to cook meals waiting for our Anova Culinary Bluetooth Precision Cooker, Black And "Yes" you can cook frozen food right from the freezer by just adding two hours on to the recommend cooking time. FYI: There is an awesome "sous-vide-time-and-temperature-guide" located under the Resources tab on the chefsteps website.

Last... you also DO NOT need one of those large clear containers you see being used with many of these Sous Vide cookers. Just clamp this unit on to the edge of any large pot you have and it works great. Just be aware when cooking for long periods (like cooking a tough cut of meat for 24 hours) water will evaporate so you want to make sure the water is always covering the food being cooked and to add more water if necessary. One trick to prevent water loss is to tightly cover the top of the pot with plastic wrap. Seal if off the best you can (working around the precision cooker) to close off the top of the pot. Another hack... do as I did. I stole this idea from another reviewer here on Amazon of using a cooler with a hole cut in the lid. I chose the Igloo Island Breeze Cooler (Diablo Red, 9-Quart) (The price of this cooler fluctuates up and down. Be patient ... I picked up mine for $10. Anyway, by using a cooler... the water heated by the Precision Cooler is insulated from outside air so the cooker doesn't have to work as hard to keep the water hot thus saving on electricity, and with the lid closed the water that evaporates, condenses on the underside of the lid and drops back into the cooler. NET: We had ours running for 19 hours of cooking without and drop in the water level. Cool!

3Excellent product with garbage parts.... EDIT..... Anova design Flaw figured out!!
By James P
So the unit is fantastic and worked like a champ..... right up to the point where it didn't. Something went wrong with the thermostat and it no longer was able to regulate a correct temperature. What can I say, its a machine and its prone to break I suppose but I didn't have it for a full week and I would like to think that the components used to build this were more robust than that. Ill give it another try and if it doesn't work Ill find another manufacturer that isn't afraid to use dependable parts.
UPDATE......
So thanks to Amazon and their no BS return/replacement policy I received my new Anova yesterday. I went to try it out today and set the temp to 176.0 and let it heat up the water. Once it got to 160+/- the temperature began to fluctuate again like the original unit did. I found it hard to believe that I received two defective units and began to investigate what I might be doing wrong. After some testing I discovered that when the hot steam is allowed to enter into the vents on the rear of the unit, the fluctuations of the temperature began. If I blocked the steam then the unit worked perfectly. Heres a picture of the remedy.
This problem does not occur when cooking at lower temps when the water does not create so much steam which is why I never noticed it before.

5Product Comparison: Anova Precision Cooker vs. Nomiku Immersion Circulator
By matthew meitzner
This is a comparison review of the Anova Precision Cooker and the Nomiku Immersion Circulator. I have used both devices for a few months and even made the same dishes side-by-side to note any difference in the final meal.

Let me just do the benefits of each to start:

Pros of the Anova Precision Cooker:

• Better final fit and finish than the Nomiku. The Nomiku has a rotary dial (the Green ring around the top) that almost free-spins and feels somehow loose. Also, the LCD screen on the Nomiku is tiny and low resolution, as compared to the Anova which uses a Seven-segment display, but it just seems to be more well integrated and polished.
• Anova packaging is better (in my mind) – the packaging looks like a giant battery and it takes up little more space than the circulator itself as compared to the Nomiku which comes in a box with molded plastic that holds everything in place. Plus my daughter loves the foam cylinder that is part of the packaging. She wears it and pretends like it is a beard (see picture). This means every time I take the Anova out, she gets excited…which makes me happy.
• Bluetooth connectivity is nice, although it really just shows the temperature of the water/food. The way I use the Anova is pretty much to heat my water to what I want, then it cooks at that exact temperature for however long I want. There really isn’t anything I need to monitor. So while the Bluetooth is cool, it’s not like a cooking thermometer where you have to monitor the temperature of the meat over time. And with Sous Vide, you don’t really have to worry about overcooking, so to me the Bluetooth ability to monitor the water temperature really doesn’t matter.
• Clamp that is used to secure the circulator to a bath or pot is more secure when installed, although it's a separate piece whereas the Nomiku it's integrated.
• AC Adapter is integrated to circulator, so all you have to do is plug into the wall. The Nomiku has a separate AC Adapter which is quite large – about the size of 3 decks of playing cards.
• Much greater range of water levels. The range between the “MIN” and “MAX” lines on the device are over 3.5”…so it can accommodate a little or a lot of water. The Nomiku by contrast has just about 1.5” of distance between the “MIN” and “MAX” levels, which means you have to be more careful about filling the basin. Not that big of a deal, but when adding the food it's easy on the Nomiku to go over the MAX level, or when doing a REALLY long cook, you can evaporate enough water to go below the MIN. Not so on the Anova.
• The Anova app has some cool recipes that are integrated with the Bluetooth connection to monitor temperature. The Nomiku comes with a recipe book which I already lost.

Pros of the Nomiku:
• The Nomiku has an integrated clamp, which is cool. You don’t have to set up a separate piece of hardware. However, I found that it’s a little less stable, so this is only a slight edge for the Nomiku.
• The Nomiku has multidirectional flow while the Anova is uni-directional, although the flow rates are the same. In theory I guess I could put more stuff into the basin and still ensure that it is evenly heated. But even with the Anova I have not yet had any issue with uneven heating. Maybe it’s the similar flow rates that really makes the difference here as the Anova is probably flowing more in one direction so it ends up evening out.
• The Nomiku is 1150W versus the 800W of the Anova. This means that when I filled two pots with the same quantity of 66 degree water, it took the Nomiku just 30 minutes to raise the temperature to 165, while it took the Anova 58 minutes to do the same thing. That might seem like a huge factor, but in reality I NEVER start with 66F degree water, nor have I cooked anything that required the water to be 165F. I cook fish, eggs, beef and other things and I will fill the water with hot water from the tap, which comes out around 130F degrees. If cooking beef, I pretty much cook to 132F degrees, so it takes the Anova about 2 minutes to reach that temperature, and the Nomiku does it in about 65 seconds. Considering it might take me 10 minutes to get all the food out, system set up, etc., this really makes no difference to me at all. Even going to 149F where I like my eggs only takes about 8 minutes on the Anova and just over 5 on the Nomiku. So, while the Nomiku is more powerful, in my world it just doesn’t matter all that often.

So what’s the conclusion? Both immersion circulators do a very good job of making any sous vide dish. In terms of the meals that I’ve made with both, I would struggle to note any difference between them. Now, with that said, I do prefer the Anova Precision Cooker for it’s overall form, simplicity and packaging.

5Strangely Worthwhile
By Nerd Alert
I was a complete skeptic before using an egg cooker. Eggs aren't hard to boil! I was so, so wrong to dismiss it. It is now one of my most used gadgets and has made me more of an egg fanatic.

Yes, boiling eggs isn't difficult. However, it is not so simple and fast that I would make the one or two that I would need for a meal on a regular basis. With this device, I can not only make them quickly in small quantities with essentially no cleanup, but get them exactly right every time. Like most people, I've adapted to softer eggs over time. Getting the yolk and white to the right consistencies can be tricky in boiling water, but it's consistent and as easy as pouring in water and turning on the switch with an egg cooker.

Oh, and ignore the predefined lines on the cup. The water at them tends to overcook the eggs. Experiment until you find what you like, and remember that mark instead.

My favorite part, though, is poaching. Again, possible in boiling water, but difficult to get right every time. It's great because there is no egg to shell and the result is delicious and visually appealing.

I've gone from eating eggs rarely to thinking of them with excitement when I go grocery shopping. A quick snack (or small meal) is to soft poach an egg and eat it on rice. I could eat that every day and never get tired of it.

So, while an egg cooker may seem silly, if you make a little room in your heart for it, you might have a new favorite gadget.

5Best purchase ever! No more guesswork!
By elkile
I cannot say enough good things about this product. Like many other reviewers, I agonized over the need to add another appliance to the kitchen, especially when I can simply boil water. For me though, with no stove or oven, boiling water is a project as I have to take out my big crockpot and my induction burner. I just wanted to make eggs easily. I am broke, so I eat a lot of boiled eggs. They are cheap, quick, easy and filling. I found this device made my life so much easier! I always mess up the timing on my eggs. I also forget they are on the stove, but that is another matter.... I found with the little measuring cup I can put in just the right amount of water for the type of eggs I want and the little machine does it perfectly every time! The eggs are easy to de-shell, the shells just slide off, and they are soft and yummy every time. The first hardboiled egg I made I could not believe was fully cooked because it was not as hard as rock... it was cooked to perfection, but still soft and I found this to be very appetizing. I cannot recommend this enough! If you have kids this is the perfect way to quickly make breakfast. The clean up is a cinch and the machine is small. I also love the poacher, that is a bonus! I do not know what I ever did without this little device! The measuring cup can be hard to read, but that is something a nice black Sharpie pen can fix. Enjoy and Bon Appetit!

5Love this egg cooker!
By Lovisa
It took me a long time to justify buying an electric egg-cooker, given that I could save money by sticking with the basic old-fashioned four (eggs, water, heat, and a pot). I purchased an Oster some ten years back and was pleasantly surprised at the convenience and ease of use. I liked being able to go ahead with other tasks and not have to monitor the eggs on the stove. The Oster on its last legs now, I went hunting for a new one and found this Hamilton Beach on Amazon. There are a few tiny issues with it but nothing to convince me to give it less than 5 stars.

1- The water cup markings are hard to read but that was quickly resolved by rubbing a marker over the grooves. (correction: that was my plan but the grooves are on the inside so I just marked over the lines and numbers on the outside of the cup with an ultra-fine sharpie and problem solved)
2- Would have liked an automatic shut-off but consider that a trade-off for the excellent price on this cooker.
3- When I removed the cooked eggs and tray, I was startled to see a strange residue on the heating plate......ectoplasm? Special effects for a remake of The Blob? Should I be calling Ghost Busters? I decided it was likely a result of hard water components and errant egg white. I spritzed the surface with white vinegar, gave it a quick wipe with a paper towel, and it was gone.

The egg tray is plastic and easier to lift out where the Oster was metal and had a bigger "oh-ouch-hot" factor. The eggs cooked to perfection! After a fast dip in ice water, the hard-boiled variety peeled so quick and clean, they might as well have had zippers. The timer signal was loud enough to get my attention. The components of the unit were easy to clean. While I don't expect appliances to last as long as they once did and have no idea what the life span of this cooker will be, I would not hesitate to buy it again.

5Beats the competition!
By Carolina Kat
As a loyal Keurig consumer, it was stepping far outside the box for me to purchase this coffeemaker but I am so glad that I did. I've been using Keurigs from the year they came out, and after the third machine quit on me - this one less than two years old - I decided to stop throwing good money after bad. Truthfully the quality of their machines has declined to the point of unacceptability. In searching for alternatives, I settled on this one, and what a wonderful cup of coffee I keep getting out of it! I did not think I would like the auto shutoff feature, because it takes an age to warm up the Keurigs, but this one brews a FAST delicious cup of coffee, from off to hot coffee in under a minute. It is a marked improvement over my previous coffeemaker both in taste and speed of brewing. If like me you're struggling over an alternative to the bi-yearly Keurig purchase, give this one a try. You're welcome.

5The best!
By C. A. Good
I've had many coffee makers over the years and this is by far the best. Most of the makers I have had were Cuisinart brands, but 2 were Keurig (one was the newest model) I love this machine and have not found any issues in the few weeks I've had it. I generally make a pot of coffee in the morning and use the single serve in the afternoon or evening. I have used several types of coffees and each one tastes great. It is easy to use and clean. Very happy with this purchase.

4Very happy with this product
By westmainmusic
We had an SS-700 that succumbed to pump problems after about three years (R.I.P.)... After trying to go the traditional coffee pot route for a while, I decided to give another single cup brewer a try. I really like the SS-10, more than the 700, for a couple of reasons:
•It's a little smaller than the 700 so I don't have to pull it out from under the cabinets to open the lid or fill the water reservoir.
•Literally no wait time from turning unit on to brewing a cup
•For some reason, the coffee produced from the use-your-own brew basket is so much stronger and more flavorful than the 700. I never brewed my own with the 700 because it tasted awful, and now I can which helps alleviate my environmental concerns about all the discarded plastic K-cups.
•Auto shut-off feature is great for scatterbrains like myself
•Not that this would have been a deal breaker, but this machine is extremely quiet. All those reporting that it is noisy, I can't imagine we are reviewing the same machine, unless theirs are defective. It is WAY quieter than the 700 was.

I only have a couple of minor aesthetic issues, so I won't exactly call them cons:
•They took away the LED in the reservoir which would blink when the water level was low. Of course, I can see with my own eyes that the water level is low, but the light was pretty...
•Ok so I'll admit this is very nitpicky, but it is a review so here goes: The cup sizes are shown smallest to largest from left to right. But when you want to go from default (8oz) to a smaller size, you hit the "down" button which you would think should be placed to the left of the "up" button, but is inexplicably placed to the right. My instincts always make me want to hit the button on the left for down. I know, I know, rotten of Cuisinart to make me have to think in the morning before my coffee!! (I know you can change the default setting but my husband and I like different sizes so we just left it.)
•Misleading for Cuisinart to describe this machine as being constructed from Stainless Steel. Yeah, nope. But I expected it.

All in all I am very happy with this machine. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is for the aesthetics described above. I purchased an $11 extended warrantee just in case.

5We have had our for a couple of weeks now and it is AWESOME!!
By Tonya Preston
I put off this purchase for a long time...I didn't think these vacuums could really work! We have had our for a couple of weeks now and it is AWESOME!!!! We have two big dogs, 2 rowdy boys, and two cats! This thing handles all the pet hair and dirt. I work full-time and was so tired of working all weekend cleaning the house...We have a 2800 foot house. This amazing vacuum has cut my cleaning time by 90%! I didn't realize how much time the floors took. I now just run over everything with a swifter duster, clean the bathrooms and windex a few things and I am DONE!
Also-most of our house is laminate floor or tile, but a year ago we got new high quality carpet in the living room. I didn't think this vacuum could handle this carpet because it is very thick...it does with no problem. I LOVE THIS THING!!!! WORKING MOM MUST!

4"Drunky McDrunkbot"
By Ross
Alright. First off, I love having one of these robot vacuums. As others have stated, getting the vacuum out and dealing with the cord is a bit of a hassle. Sure, it's not like its the hardest thing in the world to do and complaining about it kind of makes you feel guilty....real world problems, right? However, we live in the age of innovation and technology. These robot vacuums certainly provide a comfort and ease of use that far outweighs that of the standard upright vacuum.

I have a 120 pound rhodesian ridgeback and a 10 month old kid living in Florida with tile floors in most of the house and low pile carpet in the bedrooms. Life with a big dog and a baby can quickly destroy your house and make you feel like you are living in squalor. In the past, I would sweep daily and run the vacuum a few times per week while constantly trying to keep up with the wake of devastation left behind from the baby. With this robo-vac, it has made a dramatic improvement on the tile floors. Florida has sand and it gets tracked in constantly and if you walk around on hard floors barefoot, you will quickly realize how nasty your floors can get in a short period of time. I pick up the toys and stuff that the baby leaves out and let the ol' robo-vac do his thing. After a while, I send him home and dump the disturbingly large amount of dirt that has accumulated in the bin.

Here's the thing. Ol' Robo-vac does a great job with adult supervision. If left unattended, he will get lost and not find his way home and/or will get stuck on the most random objects that I didn't know were possible to get stuck on. Ironically, this morning, Ol Robo-vac was stuck on the bristles of the broom that he somehow knocked down from a corner of the living room and tried to fight.

Even weirder, we have named our robo-vac "Drunky McDrunkBot" because he always decides to go out on a bender every single night and ends up passed out drunk in a random spot of the house. Drunky McDrunkBot has not been programmed for cleaning schedules in the middle of the night and has even had all scheduled tasks deleted. It's a bit funny to see where he ends up every morning, but at the same time, frustrating.

I guess I'll list out what I like and don't like because this is a review for others to base their purchases on:

Pros:
- Convenient
- Competitively low price point compared to others
- Performance wise, Drunky McDrunkbot does a great job of cleaning and is relatively quiet
- Ease of emptying the dust bin - Lift the lid and pull up on the handle to take to the garbage to dump. Easy peezy
- Wi-Fi enabled controls and smart phone app are pretty nice and seem to integrate well.
- Mopping function is nice, I have only used it once to try it out. It didn't seem to be incredibly effective though.

Cons:
- Random sleepwalking- has a mind of his own or something
- Even when supervised, has a hard time making his way back to the charger
- Gets stuck or stranded relatively easily
- Schedule tasks apparently need some trouble shooting and aren't as straight forward as it would seem
- Using the android smart phone app, occasionally, the robot will disappear and will have to be synched again. Kind of a pain,

That pretty much sums it up and I feel a little disgusted with myself for complaining about an appliance that I bought because conventional cleaning "is just too much". Anyways, if you are contemplating buying one of these, I doubt you would be judging me on that, so High Five on making life easier, I won't judge you either.

Conclusion- I love Drunky McDrunkbot despite his character flaws and I am very happy with my purchase. I am sure that with a little help, I can sober him up and get him on the path to successful cleaning. If you are on the fence about buying this model, just keep in mind that you might have to supervise it a bit more than you would believe based on the description provided by the manufacturer.

5DEEBOT... you're hired... you are quiet, hard working and never complain!
By Bob Golden
This little guy is awesome. We had an old Rumba and it did a good job but when it gave up the ghost I did some research and decided to go with DEEBOT. I didn't want to pay the higher price of a Rumba and based on buyer feedback, it looked to be a good value. I am very glad I made that choice. The DEEBOT picks up at least twice the amount of dirt our old Rumba and like everyone else, I was amazed at how much dirt and dust I have on my floor each day even though my wife and I remove our shoes before entering the house and we don't have any kids or dogs tracking in dirt.

The collection canister is easy to remove and empty, the DEEBOT always makes its way back to the charging station and the little guy works about 2 hours before heading back for recharging. Every now and then it gets stuck under my couch and on small rugs but that is not a big deal. It is very quiet. The sensors work great as it approaches walls and other barriers it slows down and does not bang into things.

The remote is nice to have. The DEEBOT has numerous settings. The one I use most is the random setting. You can also set it to clean baseboards, just to do a small area and it has a super clean setting that I have not used since it does such a great job on normal cleaning. It has a wet clean feature that I have not used yet.

5Love the machine, here's a tip
By Twlb
I love this machine! I've been using it for several months, and now that I'm used to it, it's very simple to use, clean, and carry. Highly recommend.

Several reviewers have commented that it uses a lot of detergent. I've found that it really helps to do the whole floor with plain hot water before adding any detergent at all. Maybe my floors are exceptionally gross, but I can't believe how much dirt I got up with plain water!

But here is the best part...by using plain water first, you have created a damp carpet. When you go over it again with the cleaning solution, the damp fibers will be naturally "thirsty" and will wick the detergent deep into the carpet where you really need it. It's the same principle that a watercolor artist uses when pulling excess paint into a slightly damp "thirsty brush." It works! I got so much more deep dirt out with this method, and saved soap in the process.

5Hoover Power Scrub Deluxe - 5 STARS!
By Dreamer
Awesome machine! Very much exceeded my expectations - comes with all the attachments that you could possibly need!

EASY SET-UP:
Just 2 philips screws that attach the handle. Everything else snaps easily in place.

SUPER EASY TO USE:
1st Water Tank - holds hot clean water. Also has a place for the cleaning solution to be poured in.
2nd Water Tank - picks up the dirty water. Machine shuts off automatically when you need to replace the water.

CLEANING DETERGENT:
Carpet Miracle by Sunny & Honey - This carpet cleaning solution is far superior to Hoover's (works better and smells great).
Carpet Miracle - Carpet Cleaner Solution: Hoover, Bissell, Rug Doctor, Kenmore, Carpet Express

BEST CLEANING INSTRUCTIONS:

STEP 1
Vacuum the entire area you plan to clean.

STEP 2
In "RINSE" mode go over the entire are you plan to clean.
This step makes the carpet damp. The cleaning solution works much better with a damp carpet.

STEP 3
In "WASH" mode work over one area of the room at a time.

STEP 4
Switch the nob to "RINSE" mode and go over the same area again.
- This activates the carpet solution to work further to remove stains and odors.
- It also sucks up the remaining carpet solution that was initially left behind.

STEP 5
- Allow the carpet to air dry / use a fan / open the windows.
- Vacuum the carpet after it is fully dry to pick up any loose dirt / loose carpet fibers.

In the attached photo, I cleaned carpet that was never cleaned since it was installed almost 10 years ago, in 2006.
Today, it looks as if it was just purchased and installed. The stains are gone and the carpet fibers feel like new once again.

4UPDATED FOR 2016: Side-by-Side Comparison with Two Other Hoover Carpet Cleaners
By Dave Millman
2016 UPDATES AT THE END.

This is a head-to-head review of three Hoover carpet cleaners that are currently featured on the comparison chart on on the product page:
Hoover Power Scrub Deluxe Carpet Washer, FH50150
Hoover SteamVac Carpet Cleaner with Clean Surge, F5914-900
Hoover MaxExtract 60 PressurePro Carpet Deep Cleaner, FH50220

We've had the SteamVac for about 5 years. It has done a good job of cleaning our carpets, which are kept dirty by three dogs. We reviewed the MaxExtract last year, and recently had a chance to compare those two against the PowerScrub. Here's how they compare.

CLEANING PERFORMANCE:
A three-way tie. I used Hoover Premium Pet Formula Carpet/Upholstery Detergent in all three machines, according to the instructions for each (premix for the SteamVac, separate compartments for the other two). We cleaned separate sections of big spots with each machine. To our eyes, they were equally clean when wet, and also when dry. All three units are loud, like every other carpet cleaner.

CLEANING CONVENIENCE:
The PowerScrub and the MaxExtract have a very nice feature: You add the detergent to a separate compartment from the hot water. A switch enables you to spray mixed detergent solution, or plain water. One complaint we had after using the SteamVac for several years is that the sections of carpet with the worst stains would sometimes get dirty again fast. These deeply stained areas got a lot of detergent sprayed on them during cleaning, and we believe the stains might come back due to detergent buildup in the carpet. With the newer PowerScrub and MaxExtract models, you can switch to plain water and rinse these areas (or your whole carpet!)

The SteamVac has a Clean Surge feature that applies extra solution to stains and heavy traffic areas. I never found this to work any better than a just passing over the area again the normal way.

HOW WET WERE THE CARPETS AFTER CLEANING:
The carpets were noticeably dryer with this MaxExtract model. If you live in a colder area, or a humid area, this could be a deciding factor for you. The MaxExtract carpet fully dried in about half the time that the SteamVac carpet took. The PowerScrub carpets seemed slightly dryer than the SteamVac, but not as dry as the MaxExtract.

HOW MUCH DETERGENT THEY USE:
An unexpected outcome was that the PowerScrub and MaxExtract use significantly more detergent than the SteamVac-my guess is 50-100% more. Even using the maximum recommended amount of detergent in the SteamVac, it uses less.

CLEAN WATER/DETERGENT TANK:
The MaxExtract and PowerScrub hot water and detergent tank is easier to fill because pre-mixing is not necessary. This is not a huge deal, but the MaxExtract and PowerScrub are clearly newer machines with nice refinements in this area.

DIRTY WATER TANK:
The PowerScrub wins big points for its redesigned dirty water tank. It has a plug that you open to pour out the dirty water. This is MUCH easier than the MaxExtract or the SteamVac, both of which require you to take off the lid to pour out the water. With the PowerScrub, you use the spout to pour out dirty water, then only take of the lid once at the end of the day to rinse the tank and sponge filter. When you clean a lot of carpets, this kind of refinement matters.

UPHOLSTERY CLEANING:
The SteamVac and the PowerScrub include a SpinScrub hand tool with a spinning brush. We found this tool to be nearly useless. It seems like a lot of the suction power that comes down the hose is used just to spin the brush, so there is less suction left to suck out the dirty water. We found the simple Carpet and Upholstery Tool included with all three machines worked much better.

SUMMARY:
SteamVac: Costs less to buy and use, but this is an older machine that does not have the refinements of the other two. Leaves carpets wetter, and may leave more detergent in the carpet unless you empty the detergent tank and fill it with water only.
MaxExtract: As its name suggests, leaves carpets drier than the other machines. Allows you to rinse with water.
PowerScrub: Easiest emptying of the dirty water tank, which is very nice. Allows you to rinse with water.

RECOMMENDATIONS:
If you are cost conscious, buy the SteamVac. If you want the easiest experience, buy the PowerScrub. If you want dryer carpets quicker, buy the MaxExtract. You will get clean carpets with all three machines.

2016 UPDATES:
First, the Power Scrub Deluxe Carpet Washer, FH50150 has been updated since we bought it about 10 years ago. The photos show a model that is very similar looking to ours, but with somewhat different details. The key points APPEAR to be the same, but I cannot tell because we have the old model, not the new one.

Second, I definitely prefer models with the RINSE feature at this point. This allows you to remove more detergent from your carpet by running across each section with plain water after washing.

Third, the chart supplied by hoover is WRONG on one detail: The MaxExtract 77 model clearly has a RINSE/WASH knob in the photos, but does not show a RINSE feature in the chart. The knob is grey, below the red round Hoover logo in the photos.

Finally, at this time (last week of December 2015) the price for the MaxExtract is just twenty more than the price of the other two (prices may change). At that price, I would recommend the MaxExtract 60 over the other two models.
